Focus of research
Idris Bahce is a Thoracic Oncologist and Associate Professor of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Research Group at Amsterdam UMC.
Background
Idris Bahce finished his medical degree (CUM LAUDE) at the University of Leuven in 2003. He finished his specialization as a pulmonologist in 2009 in Arnhem. During his PhD, at the Amsterdam UMC location VUmc, he investigated the potential of PET using radiolabeled targeting agents, i.e. TKI-PET using [11C]C-erlotinib and immune-PET using [89Zr]Zr-bevacizumab, directed against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), to characterize tumors and determine their sensitivity to the given agents. For his research he received the Woldringprijs in 2018, the Dutch award for the best PhD research in the field of nuclear medicine issued by NVNG.
