In 2023, five (instead of six) Amsterdam UMC PhD Scholarships with the increased amount of 271kE will be awarded to excellent students in Medicine, Medical Informatics, Biomedical Sciences or Social Sciences.
The Doctoral School deemed the previous amount of 216kE no longer appropriate to cover most of the costs of a four-year appointment as Research Trainee (Onderzoeker in Opleiding) at the Amsterdam UMC. Unfortunately, given the current financial situation of Amsterdam UMC and the cutbacks, it was not possible to increase the amounts for six scholarships. Therefore, the Amsterdam UMC Doctoral School decided to award one scholarship less and use that money to increase the amount of the other scholarships.
