Main applicant and projectleader of the following studies:

  1. Effectiveness of routine nebulisation of mucolytic agents and bronchodilating drugs in intubated and ventilated intensive care unit patients (NEBULAE). (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2014)
  2. REstricted versus Liberal positive end-expiratory pressure in patients without the Acute respiratory distress syndrome (RELAx) (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2017)
  3. Effect of an Automated Secretion Removal Technology, named TrachFlush, on the Need for Tracheal Suctioning in intubated and mechanically ventilated intensive care unit patients (TrachFlush)(Industry sponsored trial 2021)

Co-applicant and projectleader

  1. The effects of Automated Closed-loop versus convenTional VEntilation on duration and quality of ventilation (ACTiVE) - a randomized clinical trial in intensive care unit patients. (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2019)
  2. Effect of lung ultrasound–guided fluid deresuscitation on duration of ventilation in intensive care unit patients (CONFIDENCE) (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2021)
