The ACS Out of the Box (OOTB) grant is for ACS project leaders who want to start new collaboration between Amsterdam UMC locations AMC and VUmc and use this grant to strengthen grant application(s) in the near future. Possible options for applications: proof of concept experiment, costs for unique (expensive) imaging or genetics studies, working visit abroad to gain expertise, or any other innovative idea which will improve your future grant application. The OOTB grant is worth €25,000.
Submission
The 2023 call for ACS OOTB applications is now open! You can submit your application using the ACS OOTB Application Form 2023 (see link below) before the deadline of Wednesday 28 June, 2023 at 11:00 hrs to acs@amsterdamumc.nl
Only applications that are eligible, complete,in the correct format and submitted before the deadline will be considered.
Who can apply
Project leaders of ACS* who use this grant to start new collaboration between Amsterdam UMC locations AMC and VUmc. The proposal has to be submitted by at least two applicants. NB. A researcher may only be involved in one application.
* The project leaders need to be affiliated with ACS in PURE and should receive the ACS newsletter. Amsterdam UMC researchers can be affiliated with max. two research institutes and max. two programs per research institute.
Criteria
Your application will be judged by internal and external reviewers on:
- Collaboration between Amsterdam UMC locations AMC and VUmc (obligatory)
- Quality of improving perspective for obtaining external grants
- Urgent need
- Quality of project plan
- Quality of project group
- Perspective to fit in ACS
- Translational nature of the project
Based on the review reports the ACS directorate will decide which applications will be granted mid September 2023.
