Focus of research

Biomedical engineering in general. Main focus 2-D, 3-D and 4-D image acquisition and analysis:

 

  • 3-D motion (4D) visualization and quantification of joints (mostly the wrist);
  • Non-invasive detection of knee prosthesis loosening;
  • Corrective osteotomy: Computer-assisted planning and navigation based on pre- and intraoperative 3-D imaging;
  • Measurement of functional microcirculatory geometry and velocity distributions using automated image analysis;
  • Syllectometry: Effect of aggregometer geometry in the assessment of red blood-cell shape recovery and aggregation;
  • Ektacytometry and aggregometry with the Laser-assisted Optical Rotational Cell Analyzer (LORCA);
  • 3D Cryomicrotome imaging.
