The Amsterdam Gastroenterology Endocrinology Metabolism (AGEM) research institute offers a course specifically developed for PhD candidates that perform research in the field of gastroenterology, endocrinology and metabolism. This course aims to inform (starting) PhD candidates about gastroenterology, endocrinology and metabolism, including those topics that are not necessarily within the scope of their own research.

The dates for the AGEM PhD candidate course for 2024 are:

  • Wednesday January 17th - Friday January 19th 2024
  • Monday January 22nd - Wednesday January 24th 2024

#1: HvA building (Wednesday 17th and Friday 19th), 10 minute walk from station Holendrecht

Tytgat institute (Wednesday 17th and Friday 19th), 15 minute walk from station Holendrecht
#3: AMC main building, K (Tuesday 18th), easiest to use entrance 2
#4: AMC main building, L (Wednesday 24th), easiest to use entrance 2
#5: AMC main building, M (Tuesday 18th), easiest to use entrance 2

Learning objectives

The course runs for 6 days:

  • During the first three days, all participants will get an overview of general insights and methodology applicable to gastroenterology, endocrinology and metabolism.
  • The second three days will be spend on a group assignment.

Group assignment

In this assignment you have to write a project proposal with your group. The first day of the course the assignment will be explained. The last day of the course you will present (pitch) your project proposal.

    Credits

    The AGEM PhD candidate course accounts for 1,8 ECTS.

    Registration

    The AGEM PhD candidate course is free of charge, but registration is required. Registration is now closed.
