End-of-life care, palliative care, mixed methods research
Focus of research
Currently, my research focuses on end-of-life care and palliative care within two different research projects. One research project is about the experiences of bereaved relatives and healthcare professionals with end-of-life care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Within this research project, I focus on both the quality of end-of-life care (form the perspective of healthcare professionals) and the well-being of these healthcare professionals. We use both quantitative data (surveys) and qualitative data ((longitudinal) interviews). I’m also involved in research on the implementation of the SigMa-method (a method that aims to improve the quality of palliative care in nursing homes), where I observe how this method is used and functioning in practice.
