About the M.W. Beijerinck Virology Prize

Established in 1965 in honor of virologist M.W. Beijerinck (1851-1931), the M.W. Beijerinck Virology Prize acknowledges a globally renowned researcher in the field of virology. This award is presented biennially. The awardee is granted a monetary prize of EUR 35,000, which can be utilized at their discretion, along with a medal featuring the image of M.W. Beijerinck.
