On Sunday March 20, members of Team Amsterdam UMC participated in the Dutch One Hundred (‘De Hollandse 100’), a fundraising initiative by the Lymph&Co Foundation. The event took place at Thialf, Heerenveen. Team Amsterdam UMC laced up their skates and accomplished 10 km of skating on the ice rink before riding their bicycles for an additional 90 kilometers to reach the milestone distance of the Dutch One Hundred. The event raised a total of €250,000 for research into lymph node cancer.

Team Amsterdam UMC, including 3 patients and their families, raised more than
€11,000! Also, Cancer Center Amsterdam‘s Marijn Kramer – who recently received
a Lymph&Co fellowship which allows her to perform CAR T-cell research at
Stanford University for 2 years put her best foot forward.

The Lymph&Co Foundation finances innovative basic, translational and clinical scientific research into lymph node cancer to create new opportunities for patients.

Previously, several research projects at Cancer Center Amsterdam were funded by the Lymph&Co Foundation:

  • Understanding lymphoma better: towards personalized therapy – Prof. Marie José Kersten and Prof. Steven Pals
  • Environmental dependence as the Achille’s heel of lymphoma: 'homelessness' as therapy - Dr. Marcel Spaargaren
  • Treatment of CLL/SLL with improved immunotherapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cells (CAR-T)) – Prof. Arnon Kater
