The worldwide outbreak of the corona virus has consequences for all of us. But are there any differences in impact between men and women?

ZonMw asked Sabine Oertelt-Pringione from the Radboudumc, and APH-researcher Petra Verdonk, associate professor Gender and Diversity at Amsterdam UMC, to share their knowledge.

Both researchers agree in their main message to the government that when decisions about measures for short- and long-term are made, gender and diversity should be taken into account. Which men and women in the Dutch population are hit the hardest in this crisis and why? The focus should not only be on health, but also on the social impact of this pandemic.
