International DNA

students

Amsterdam UMC's international population is rooted in the city's long history as a centre for global exchange and openness. From its early days, Amsterdam UMC has expanded its global reach through research collaborations and international conferences. Today, 58% of our international body comes from EU member states, and 42% from non-EU countries, for a total of 92 different nationalities. A truly global mix! Over the past decade, our number of international researchers have nearly doubled, with now roughly 1 in 5 of our researchers coming from outside of the Netherlands. Our policies have a strong focus on international ethics and collaboration, and aim to break down barriers to provide equal opportunities to a global scientific population.

Amsterdam UMC's role as a magnet for global talent highlights how our international community is not only large, but also increasingly diverse, and plays a vital role in shaping the institution's identity and driving its continued growth and success.
