Recently, Cancer Center Amsterdam (CCA) Foundation (Stichting Cancer Center Amsterdam) announced financial support for ten innovative research projects to facilitate the cancer discoveries of tomorrow. This annual seed funding provides crucial support to early-stage new scientific concepts that would otherwise struggle to
find funding. The CCA Foundation grants give researchers a chance to explore
new possibilities and obtain supporting data and proof-of-concept that lays the
groundwork for applying for highly-competitive grants from established funding
agencies like the Dutch Cancer Society, the Dutch Research Council, or the
European Research Counsel.
CCA Foundation also provides financial support for crucial infrastructure that is needed to support scientific discovery. Over the years, backing was provided for:
- the da Vinci XI surgical robot
- state-of-the-art scientific laboratory equipment in support of cell and radiation research
- the Amsterdam UMC Liquid Biopsy Center
- the new ImmunoTherapy Center
- the Amsterdam Oncology and Neuroscience Research & Diagnostic Center (ADORE)
