Joost Verhoeff - Newly Appointed Member of the Executive Board Cancer Center Amsterdam
The Board of Directors of Amsterdam UMC has decided to appoint Joost Verhoeff as a member of the Executive Board of CCA effective January 1, 2024. With this he succeeds Paul Fockens.
Joost Verhoeff trained as a radiation-oncologist at AMC from 2008-2014 and then worked at Medisch Spectrum Twente and UMC Utrecht.
Since October of 2023, he has been working as a radiation-oncologist and professor of radiotherapy at Amsterdam UMC. He was recently appointed head of the Radiotherapy Department where he leads a team of highly qualified professionals on 4 locations. He specializes in the treatment of brain tumors, lung cancer and cardiac arrhythmias with high-precision radiotherapy. In addition, Joost is leading in several clinical trials and research projects to provide the best customized care for each patient. He is a passionate and innovative physician-researcher who strives to improve the quality of life and survival of cancer patients. Joost, welcome!

Andre Vis has been appointed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as Professor of 'Diagnostics and surgery of tumors of the lower urinary tract'. The chair is embedded in the Department of Urology, Division 2 of Amsterdam UMC and at the research institute Cancer Center Amsterdam.
Joost Verhoeff has been appointed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as Professor of 'Radiotherapy'. The chair is embedded in the Department of Radiotherapy, Division 7 of Amsterdam UMC and at the research institute Cancer Center Amsterdam.
Martine Chamuleau has been appointed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as Professor of 'Hematology, in particular high-grade B-cell lymphoma'. The chair is embedded in the Department of Hematology, Division 1 of Amsterdam UMC and at the research institute Cancer Center Amsterdam.
Veerle Coupé has been appointed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as Professor of ‘Medical Decision Sciences in Cancer Care and Prevention’. She will present her inaugural lecture on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 3:45 PM in the Aula of the VU main building (De Boelelaan 1105, 1081 HV Amsterdam). Read more about professor Coupé here.
