    MS Research Bonus Grant for Jörg Hamann and colleagues at MS centers in Amsterdam and Rotterdam Dr. Hamann has been awarded the MS Research bonus grant of €300,000 from the MS Research Foundation. The grant supports research titled ‘Path and Performance of Pathogenic T-Cells in the Human MS Brain’. This project involves conducting single-cell RNA sequencing of T-cells from various brain regions, including brain borders, cerebrospinal fluid, parenchyma, and MS lesions.
  • Urgent Call for Child Vaccination
    Urgent Call for Child Vaccination Recently, Dutch pediatricians issued a unified call urging parents to vaccinate their children against all diseases covered in the national vaccination program (Rijksvaccinatieprogramma). At the Amsterdam Institute for Immunology & Infectious Diseases, vaccination is a top priority. The concerning recent events in the Netherlands deeply trouble us. Therefore, we wholeheartedly endorse the recent collective call from Dutch pediatricians, urging parents to vaccinate their children.

    €9.5M Accelerates Medicines and Vaccines Development for Infectious Diseases Amsterdam UMC, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Radboudumc, Utrecht UMC, and the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) have secured a €9.5 million startup grant from ZonMw to launch a Dutch facility for early clinical research on drugs and vaccines targeting infectious diseases. Professor Hovius, director of the Amsterdam Institute for Immunology & Infectious Diseases (AII), is involved in the initiative.
