The project ‘Art in healthcare in times of corona’ aims to gain insight in the impact of art on the well-being of the elderly in this time of crisis. With this project they try to examine what the value of art is in times of crisis, and in what way artists can support and relieve the healthcare employees of their tasks.

In these hard times, a lot of elderly – and the healthcare providers – have strong needs for distraction, inspiration, comfort and contact, to give expression to their feelings of sadness, anxiety and loneliness. More and more evidence can be found describing the positive impact of art and culture on the health and the social well-being of elderly. Art might be a solution to relieve the elderly and the healthcare providers of their negative feelings.
