This 2-day program (June 10 & 17) aims to provide you with the first steps of creating and accelerating the societal impact of your research and introduce you to the world of entrepreneurship in public health. We provide you with practical guidance for idea creation, problem validation and stakeholder engagement, developing a business model, and pitching your idea to a jury panel.

This Explore program is initiated by Amsterdam Public Health research institute (APH), Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA), and executed by ACE Incubator (ACE).

Program

The program offers a combination of interactive lectures and workshops, and provides the opportunity to interact with seasoned speakers, passionate founders and likeminded researchers. Participants will be pre-matched in teams of 3-4. Each team will work on their business idea, which preferably (but not necessarily) is based on an opportunity/innovation from your own research (product, service, process etc). At the end of day 2, the participants will get the opportunity to pitch their business idea in a “Dragon’s Den” format to a jury panel and they will award 500 euros to the team with the best pitch.

Day 1: June 10, 2022 (09:00-17:30 hrs)
Day 2: June 17, 2022 (09:00-17:30 hrs)

Preparations

Participants are encouraged to come up with a business idea before the course starts.
