On November 19, 2021 Cécile Boot will give her inaugural lecture at the Aula of VU Amsterdam to obtain her new chair entitled 'Societal Participation and Health'.

APH program leader Cécile Boot (professor Societal Participation and Health at Amsterdam UMC and endowed professor Organization and Quality of Work in Elderly Care at Radboud University Nijmegen) will give her inaugural lecture to obtain the new chair entitled 'Societal Participation and Health'. this lecture is on November 19 and starts at 15:45 hrs at the aula of VU Amsterdam.

Cécile Boot obtained her masters degree Biomedical Health Sciences (2000) and PhD in occupational health (2004) at the Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2008, she started as a senior researcher at the department of Public and Occpuational Health and EMGO+ Institute for Health and Care research and since 2017, her research is embedded in the research program Societal Participation & Health of the Amsterdam Public Health research institute.

Her research focuses on how work influences health, and how vulnerable groups, such as workers with chronic disease, or older workers, of working informal caregivers can prolong work participation sustainably until retirement.
