In total three calls covering three themes were eligible for funding in 2023.

Theme 1: Artificial Intelligence and data availability

'Transparent and reliable AI to obtain relevant medical information' from the research group of Christiaan Vinkers from the Department of Psychiatry, Anatomy & Neuroscience who will be working on a project to contribute to more open-access research.

Theme 2: Vision on Digital Health: how do we secure a digital emergency lane?

'Setting-up a panel with disadvantaged populations for research on digital Health inclusivity: a recruitment feasibility study' from junior researcher Corine Oldhoff-Nuijsink and her research group from the department of Medical Informatics who will contribute to more accessible digital healthcare among disadvantaged populations with the goal to decrease health disparities among different population groups.

Theme 3: AI-acceleration

Who are our partners and how to partner? – “From the Workbench to the Benchmark: AI Learning Analytics for Next-Generation Surgery (AILANGS)” a research project of PhD candidate Tim Feenstra from the department of Surgery, together with his research group, who will contribute to the improvement of surgical training.
