The Veni grant provides young scientists with the opportunity to further elaborate their own ideas for the next three years. This grant is also awarded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO).

APH researcher Eirini Karyotaki (assistant professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) is one of the 162 researchers that have been granted the Veni grant this year. With her research about Personalized e-health for common mental disorders, Eirini Karyotaki proposes to use powerful analytic techniques to develop personalized prediction models that can show who is more likely to respond to what kind of e-health treatment.

The Vidi grant enables experienced researchers to develop their own innovative line of research and set up their own research group for the coming five years. The grant is awarded by the Dutch Research Council. APH researcher Christiaan Vinkers (senior researcher at Amsterdam UMC) is also one of the 81 experienced researchers that have been awarded a Vidi grant worth 800,000 Euros. The grant was awarded for his research about Understanding the impact of childhood trauma in depression. Christiaan Vinkers tries to understand the long-lasting and severe impact of childhood trauma and test whether a ‘reset’ of the stress system can help to treat depression related to childhood trauma.
