The study by Amsterdam UMC and the Jeroen Bosch hospital has been
published in the
Lancet.

Patients can safely and successfully monitor their own menstrual cycle at home
before IVF treatment. Tracking ovulation before placing a frozen embryo does
not require a hospital doctor or nurse. This is the conclusion of AR&D
researchers Femke Mol, Tjitske Zaat and others after doing an RCT with more
than 1,400 women.

Home-based monitoring is more sustainable, reduces pressure on hospital staff
and is cheaper than the current method being used. In addition, the approach is
much less stressful for patients and it requires less use of medication.
