As part of the harmonization of both pharmacy locations, the rates for the initiation/management of study medication by the pharmacy have also been harmonized. It is important to mention that whereas previously there was a 50% discount for investigator-initiated research (IIT) at the AMC location, this discount has been discontinued after the harmonization. It is no longer feasible, given the increased number of IITs, to offer this discount. These rates will be indexed annually. Additionally, our rates are found to be market competitive.
The above has been discussed and approved by the Board of Directors of Amsterdam UMC.
Furthermore, it is nice to report that at the VUmc location, all studies that need compounding and studies with oral medication (except for a few oral studies not prescribed via Beacon) are orderable in Epic. Currently, a plan is being devised on how to incorporate this remainder of studies with oral medication into Epic before the summer.
At the AMC location, Epic is currently being configured to facilitate ordering study medication. Once this is ready, new studies will be made orderable in Epic, and a plan will be devised to transition ongoing studies into Epic.
