The scientific publication on the first year of the TRIDENT-2 study (Van der Meij et al.) is highlighted in the Top 10 of publications worldwide that had the most impact on the application of genetics in clinical care in 2019-2020.

The selection was made by the Genomic Medicine Working Group of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), which consists of leading geneticists. In selecting the top 10, this working group looked at the impact on health care, both for individuals and for national policy. The knowledge obtained must therefore be widely applicable. This is an important recognition for the balanced and socially responsible way in which the NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) has been introduced in the Netherlands.

A big compliment to the NIPT consortium and all partners who contributed to this!
