Into the Core: interview on iPSC technology by Vivi HeineAt the forefront of the induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) technology is Vivi Heine, Professor of Human Model Systems in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her growing expertise in stem cell technology led to the establishment of the iPSC Core Facility at Amsterdam UMC, where her team produces iPSCs for use in both human and disease models. These systems provide researchers with unprecedented tools to study human biology and pathology more directly than ever before.
Into the Core: interview with Eric Reits at Cellular ImagingEric Reits leads the core facility Cellular Imaging at Amsterdam UMC, location AMC. The facility houses a large variety of microscopes for studying cells and tissues in health and disease. Currently, Reits is pioneering an advanced light microscope, integrating the best features from his two preferred microscopes and, in addition, further enhanced by Artificial Intelligence and machine learning.
