Within the Sarphati Cohort research is conducted into the growth and development of Amsterdam children. This concerns children receiving services from Youth Health Care at the Public Health Service of Amsterdam (GGD Amsterdam) and the Amsterdam Health Foundation (SAG) Parent and Child Teams.

During the consultations with the Parent and Child Teams, data is collected about the health and development of children up to 18 years of age. We use this information to provide care. In order to conduct research, explicit parental consent to use some data anonymously for the Sarphati Cohort is requested. The aim of this research is to gain insight into the causes of certain non-communicable diseases including diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases.
