About us
Our mission is to improve treatment options and patient care for chronic immune-mediated skin diseases, allergy, skin infections, pigment disorders, laser dermatology and skin cancers.
Research
We perform experimental and translational research to unravel pathomechanisms of these diseases, with a focus on the involvement of the skin immune system (SIS), in order to develop new therapeutic agents and management strategies.
By clinical and epidemiological research, we evaluate current and new treatments to achieve evidence-based medicine and develop new treatment guidelines. We value patient involvement in our research by investigating patient-reported outcomes.
Our research is embedded in the Amsterdam UMC Research institutes, Amsterdam Institute for Infection and Immunity, Cancer Center Amsterdam and Amsterdam Public Health.
