The chairs of this meeting will be Prof. dr. Richard Jaspers, Director of Amsterdam Movement Sciences (AMS), and Prof. dr. Jolanda van der Velden, Director of Amsterdam Cardiovascular Sciences (ACS)..
At Amsterdam UMC, we have been working for years to replace laboratory animals research with innovative, animal-free methods, and enormous progress has been made. Models and techniques for replacing laboratory animals are continuously improving. However, for the study of a wide range of diseases and the development of new medicines, research in laboratory animals is still necessary.
