General
The Amsterdam Cohort Hub (ACH) is dedicated to improve the infrastructure for longitudinal cohort studies in the Amsterdam region and to increase the impact of these studies in order to benefit the health of the population and society at large.
Every four weeks, ACH organizes a webinar to present our cohort-studies and discuss themes relevant for cohort studies, their staff and researchers. This month, we have scheduled the following webinar:
The Amsterdam MS cohort - A clinical cohort study – Eva Strijbis
The Amsterdam MS cohort is a clinical cohort study that includes all patients that visit the MS Center Amsterdam for a second opinion, clinical care, or research. It is built on a fully digital care path that is developed in the electronic patient dossier. Specialists register health care data at the source, meaning that all data is directly available for health care evaluations and research. In this talk I will discuss the use of cohort data for health care improvement in a “learning health care’ environment with the Amsterdam MS cohort as an example.
Biobank & national biobank collaboration within BBMRI/Health-RI – Jörg Hamman
Amsterdam UMC Biobank supports researchers in establishing and running biobanks that meet current ethical and quality standards. Within the framework of BBMRI.nl and Health-RI, it contributes to biobank development and the shaping of a national health data infrastructure for research, policy, and innovation.
