The Amsterdam Cohort Hub (ACH) is dedicated to improve the infrastructure for longitudinal cohort studies in the Amsterdam region and to increase the impact of these studies in order to benefit the health of the population and society at large.

Every four weeks, ACH organizes a webinar to present our cohort-studies and discuss themes relevant for cohort studies, their staff and researchers. This month, we have scheduled the following webinar:

Netherlands Autism Register (NAR) – Sander Begeer

Sander Begeer is professor in developmental psychology. His research is focused on understanding differences between autistic and non-autistic individuals (positive and negative). He (co)founded and directs the Netherlands Autism Register (NAR), https://nar.vu.nl/, a large longitudinal cohort of autistic individuals. He aims to increase mutual understanding and improve support where needed.

Participant participation in research – Vincent van Loenen

Vincent van Loenen has been active as ambassador of the Netherlands Autism Register since 2018. In that role he represents people with autism in the researchteam and all its activities. This liaison role also involves connecting with a wide range of external parties in our society, to implement appropriate results of the NAR research into their daily routines. You can think of Ministry of Defence, Labour Office, Institutes, Employers, etc. In return we ask societal parties to provide us with new questions for our next research rounds. As with all NAR activities we work as a mixed team including members with and without autism, which is why this webinar includes an autistic and a non-autistic presenter.
