The Amsterdam Cohort Hub (ACH) is dedicated to improve the infrastructure for longitudinal cohort studies in the Amsterdam region and to increase the impact of these studies in order to benefit the health of the population and society at large.
Every four weeks, ACH organizes a webinar to present our cohort-studies and discuss themes relevant for cohort studies, their staff and researchers. In January, we have scheduled the following webinar:

The Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam, by Gaby Lunansky
In the presentation we will discuss the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam, which is part of the Amsterdam Cohort Hub. This prospective cohort study of older adults in the Netherlands has been going on since 1992, focusing on finding determinants and studying trajectories of physical, emotional, cognitive and social functioning. LASA includes randomly selected participants aged 55+ from three municipalities in the Netherlands. The original cohort in 1992 started with 3000+ participants, and novel cohorts are included every 10 years with around 1000 new participants. Follow-up measures are taken every 3-4 years. The extensive data collection interviews include measures such as general cognitive functioning, social participation, anxiety and loneliness, and physical performance.
