More information and the full program will follow soon, but take a look at the first speakers!

Dr. Betty Tijms will take about "Biological variants of Alzheimer's Disease" and discuss what these variants mean for diagnosis, prognosis and intervention.

Dr. Roos Jutten will give a speach "The use of digital platforms for early detection of cognitive decline" on how digital monitoring changes the clinical practice.

Annel Koomen (promovendus) & Hidde Woerdman (physician-reseacrher) will discuss "Brain stimulation in Alzheimer's Disease: from understanding to treatment". They will shine light on the possibilities and limitations of brain stimulation

Dr. Sven van der Lee & Dr. Heleen Hendriksen on "Practical application and communication of genetic risk factors in the memory clinic: From DNA-profile to understable and responsible patientcare."

Dr. Kim de Kleijn will discuss "Drug development; how does it work? From laboratorium findings to a registered drug."

Prof. Dr. Cornelis Boersma will talk about "Dementia: care and the broader societal and economic impact. The consequences of dementia past the clinical practice."

Dr. Marsh Könings is going to discuss "CTE: Headers in amateur football and its effect on blood biomarkers for brain damage".

Dr. Lenneke Post will take about "Life questions: How to deal with life questions with mild cognitive complaints and beginning dementia".

Prof. dr. Yolande Pijnenburg will present "TDP-43: new kid on the block in neurodegeneration?".

Dr. Argonde van Harten will talk about "Prodromal and preclinical stages of dementia".

Dr. Rachel Buckley will explore on the topic of "Sex differences in Alzheimer’s disease: is there evidence for sex-specific risk or resilience?"
A special guest from Harvard University. Buckley knows everything there is to know about sex differences in Alzheimer's disease. She will address the question whether men and women have different risks of developing Alzheimer's and whether there are differences in cognitive resilience. She will also discuss possible biological explanations for these differences. Research shows that women, especially women with elevated amyloid levels, often show higher tau levels and faster cognitive decline. At the same time, they often function relatively well cognitively in the early stages of the disease.
