APH program leader Cécile Boot (professor ‘Societal participation and health’ at Amsterdam UMC and endowed professor ‘Organisation and Quality of Work in Elderly Care at Radboud University Nijmegen) will give her inaugural lecture to obtain the new VU chair for the subject Societal Participation and Health.
Cécile Boot obtained her masters degree Biomedical Health Sciences (2000) and PhD in occupational health (2004) at the Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2008, she started as a senior researcher at the department of public and occpuational health and EMGO+ Institute for Health and Care research and since 2017, her research is embedded in the program Societal participation and health of the Amsterdam Public Health research institute. Her research focuses on how work influences health, and how vulnerable groups, such as workers with chronic disease, or older workers, of working informal caregivers can prolong work participation sustainably until retirement.
