Who can apply?
Scientific researchers who:
- conduct fundamental research in (bio)medical sciences or related disciplines;
- received their PhD no more than four years ago or are in the final stages of their PhD and can start the intended research within three months after the grant is awarded;
- are capable of independently conducting innovative research;
- intend to carry out research at a university or research institution in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

About the De Boer-van Staveren Fund
Established by KNAW in 2023, the fund's assets stem from the legacy of Dr. Wilhelmus P.H. de Boer. It supports pioneering fundamental research in autoimmune diseases by early career researchers. Each year, three researchers receive up to €50,000 to kickstart or advance their work.
