Isabella Gigante, PhD candidate at the department of rehabilitation medicine at AUMC, was awarded the prize during the ISPO World Congress.


Isabella Gigante was awarded the prize for best presentation among early career researchers at this year’s ISPO World Congress in Stockholm, Sweden.

Isabella's presentation, titled "Exploring unknowns in footwear design for people with diabetes at moderate-to-high risk of foot ulceration: a knowledge gap analysis," made complex research accessible, engaging, and impactful. The 20th ISPO World Congress was held is Sweden from 16 to 19 June 2025, and the event theme this year was 'Science in Practice'. The conference, that is held once every two years, brings together professionals involved in prosthetic, orthotic, and mobility care to share the latest scientific and clinical advancements, products, and technologies.
