Specialization
Dr. Derk Jan Jager received his Msc. in Dentistry at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. In 2012 he earned a Ph.D in Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen under supervision of prof. dr. Marie-Charlotte Huysmans and prof dr. Arjan Vissink. Part of this work was done at King’s College London under supervision of prof. dr. Gordon Proctor. Dr. Jager subsequently completed a three-year hospital-based clinical residency in Prosthodontics at the University Medical Center Groningen (supervision: prof. dr. Marco Cune) resulting in a membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Furthermore, he earned his Board Certification in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics by the Dutch Society of Gnathology and Prosthodontics in 2016. Until 2023 he was board member of the Salivary Research Group of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). Until december 2022 he was board member of the Dutch Society for Gnathology and Prosthodontics (NVGPT).
