Focus of research
My research explores how individuals with and without autism process information through various sensory modalities, such as vision, hearing, touch, and taste. I am particularly fascinated by (multisensory) perception and cognitive psychology. To investigate these topics, I employ a range of methodologies, including psychophysics, functional infrared thermal imaging (fITI), EEG, eye-tracking, artificial intelligence (machine learning, genetic algorithms), and skin conductance. I am an active member of the Netherlands Autism Register (NAR), a large longitudinal cohort of autistic individuals. Through this collaboration, our goal is to foster mutual understanding and improve support systems for autistic individuals where needed.
