Last Friday, cardiovascular researchers from Leiden and Amsterdam virtually gathered during the 11th Rembrandt Symposium to hear current (pre)clinical cardiovascular research ideas.

We look back at a successful edition with 168 attendees listening to interesting presentations by young researchers! A highlight were the poster sessions with dedicated time to discuss projects and ideas with fellow researchers and to set up collaborations. At the end of the meeting, the winners of the Rembrandt Research Grant 2020 were announced and the best oral presentations, posters and the heArt in Science award were awarded.

The Rembrandt Research Grant, stimulating collaboration between cardiovascular researchers from Leiden and Amsterdam, was this year awarded to Tom Seijkens (Amsterdam UMC) and Louisa Antoni (LUMC).

Winners Oral awards: Kikkie Poels (1st prize, Amsterdam UMC), Fernanda Bosada (runner-up, Amsterdam UMC), Alwin de Jong (runner-up, LUMC); Poster awards: Nathalie Reilly (LUMC), Sanne Verberk (Amsterdam UMC), Tom Streef (LUMC), Roel Bijkerk (LUMC); HeArt in Science awards: Alexander Panfilov (1st prize, LUMC), Lindsay Mulder (2nd prize, LUMC), Roel Bijkerk (3rd prize, LUMC).
