Focus of research
I am consultant endocrine surgeon and clinical epidemiologist at Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc). I am part of the multidisciplinary center ACcENT (Amsterdam Centre for Endocrine and Neuroendocrine Tumours), where I treat patients with a broad spectrum of endocrine and neuroendocrine conditions — including thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreatic and related neuroendocrine diseases.
My passion lies in combining high-quality clinical care with rigorous research. Over the years I have contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications on thyroid cancer, adrenal disease, neuroendocrine tumours and surgical outcomes.
In my daily work I aim to combine clear communication, multidisciplinary teamwork and continuous quality improvement — with the ultimate goal of refining diagnostics and surgical care, improving long-term outcomes and personalising treatment for patients with endocrine and neuroendocrine disorders.
