Two prizes were awarded to AMS members at the annual SMALLL conference (the Society for Movement Analysis Laboratories in the Low Lands), which this year was held in Nijmegen (NL) on October 19 and 20, '23.

Babette Mooijekind won the poster award with her study titled Muscle morphological adaptations of the m. gastrocnemius medialis to functional power training in children with cerebral palsy. Babette is a PhD candidate at Ghent University and Amsterdam UMC, supervised by prof. dr. Lynn Bar-On, prof. dr. Christine van den Broeck (both Ghent U.), dr. Marjolein van der Krogt, and prof. dr. Annemieke Buizer (both Amsterdam UMC).

Gaia van den Heuvel won the annual SMALLL award, which each year is awarded to a recently graduated student in the field of movement analysis. Gaia's master thesis research focused on studying muscle function related to foot deformities in children with cerebral palsy using musculoskeletal modeling. For her master thesis, Gaia was supervised by dr. Marjolein van der Krogt, dr. Wouter Schallig (both Amsterdam UMC), and dr. Ajay Seth (TU Delft).
