Vincent Gouttebarge and Gino Kerkhoffs (Department of Orthopaedics, Amsterdam UMC) have received a €40.000 research grant from the After Rugby Career Consultation (ARCC) to longitudinally monitor the health of retired African rugby players. Transitioning out of elite sport is not easy, athletes might face various health conditions when they leave their sport. Currently, support measures addressing the health of retired professional rugby players are not systematically implemented.
