The Ode to the Parents campain has started today. The campaign has the goal to increase appreciation and support for parents during their child’s first 1,000 days. APH researcher Tessa Roseboom (professor of Early Development and Health at Amsterdam UMC) is one of the involved researchers that have shown the importance of this period.

The ‘Bernard van Leer Foundation’, ‘Noaber Foundation’ and the ‘Samenwerkende GezondheidsFondsen’ have worked intensively together on the campaign that can now be seen on television, online, in various magazines, public transport, at consultation offices and on the (Dutch) website www.1e1000dagen.nl.

The ‘Samenwerkende GezondheidsFondsen’ recognize the great importance of a healthy start in preventing diseases, and the important role that parents play during the first 1,000 days. As part of the ‘Healthy Generation’, they are therefore working together to invest in the first 1,000 days in order to build the Healthiest Generation in 2040.
