The Arbo Unie Academic Collaborative Center aims to promote the quality and academization of occupational medicine by offering medical training, internships, sharing data and developing new methodologies and care pathways.

Examples

of activities in the field of education and training

  • The colleagues at Arbo Unie contribute to the medical training course (practical occupational health care), health sciences and/or movement sciences
  • In recent years, there have been several bachelor or master internships in collaboration with Arbo Unie where students were able to do their scientific internship, for example, based on data from Arbo Unie

of activities in the field of research

  • Set up a joint data infrastructure in which all absenteeism and illness data of employees who are affiliated with Arbo Unie via their employer are read out every quarter. In this way, we are building a longitudinal cohort of sick people
  • Arbo Unie cooperated in two research projects in 2020 by making their professionals available for training and testing interventions in their own practice

of activities in the area of care (innovation)

  • Development of new methodologies and advice. For example, based on a study of long-term absenteeism, a prediction rule has been developed that is used in Arbo Unie’s practice
  • Arbo Unie itself has been busy developing new care pathways. For one of these care paths on low back pain, Amsterdam UMC will contribute to the evaluation of the effect

There is structural cooperation. A contract has been concluded with the partners.
