The Ben Sajet Centrum aims to ensure the quality of life for elderly people and people with cognitive disabilities. The Ben Sajet centrum is a center for development of knowledge and innovation in healthcare.

Objective

Our main objective is ensuring the quality of life for elderly people and people with cognitive disabilities. Ben Sajet Center aims to renew and structurally improve the long-term care by intertwining research, practice and education.

    of activities in the field of education and training

    • Partner health care institutions, in collaboration with Vocational Education (mbo) and Universities of Applied Sciences (hbo), have inventoried learning innovations, developed promising interventions, and set these up at various locations in the city. Learning-innovations are scientifically evaluated.
    • Increase professionals- and policy makers knowledge on working with social networks around people with dementia.

    • Effects of working with ‘the Social Approach’ in the long-term care for elderly people
    • Working mechanisms, similarities and differences during crisis situations in the long-term care
    • More insight into the external factors, patterns and mechanisms through which problems for young adults with mild disabilities are formed, so support can be improved

    • Optimizing hospital care for the elderly, for example the Wijkkliniek; a collaboration between Amsterdam UMC, Cordaan and Zilveren Kruis set up to build an infrastructure for immediate hospital care in the district
    • Removing barriers for participating in society and creating opportunities for young adults with mild intellectual disabilities in big cities and within super diverse context

    Established in 2015.
    Partners work together on a structural basis. The partners have signed a cooperation agreement.
