It was once again time for the annual ACS PhD retreat, where PhD students gathered in Soesterberg for a two-day program filled with of science-related activities. With varying keynote speakers, interesting workshop and ample time for participants to present their own work, we can conclude that a 'scientific spark was ignited'.

Ignite your scientific spark

The theme of the retreat this year was 'ignite your scientific spark'. The committee organized several interesting and fun workshops, invited keynote speakers with varying perspectives and ensured there was plenty of time for participants to present their own work. The first keynote lecture was given by dr. Nimrat Grewal, on her journey as a surgeon-scientist. Paul Bessems, CEO & founder of Summa Biotech gave a talk on leadership. On the second day, prof. dr. Natasja de Groot gave an interesting talk on bridging the gap between translational science and the clinic.

Award ceremony

During the closing session ACS director Ronak Delewi presented awards during the award ceremony. Congratulations to all the awardees!
