Focus of research
As a clinical microbiologist I am interested in preventing and treating infectious diseases and my main specialization is in infection prevention and control.
My research focusses on prevention of infections and outbreak control with special interest in (de-)implementation of infection prevention measures and factors that influence the behaviour of healthcare professionals in their specific context.
Together with my research group we conduct both scientific and applied research that allows direct embedding in practice and translation into real-world value. Ultimately we strive to improve healthcare quality and patient safety.
