Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc diabetes health care team has developed a Dutch version of DESMOND (Diabetes Education for Self-Management in Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed), developed in the UK, named PRISMA: PRo-Active Interdisciplinary Self-Management.
PRISMA is an integral part of the ongoing type 2 diabetes care programme of the Diabetescentre of Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc. The team offers Train-The Trainers programmes for health care professionals.
In May 2010 a collaborative PRISMA implementation project was initiated with Novo Nordisk to disseminate and evaluate PRISMA in Primary Care.
