Dr. Nick Bijsterveld, a cardiologist who specializes in sports cardiology and device therapy at AMC, has been acknowledged as the NOC*NSF High performance Partner by Team NL Chief Medical Officer Maarten Moen and Project manager Gerda op het Veld on February 7th, 2025.

NOC*NSF
The 'Nederlands Olympisch Comité*Nederlandse Sport Federatie' (NOC*NSF) is the umbrella organisation for sports in the Netherlands and includes as its members 77 National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and 17 associated organisations, representing more than 24,000 sports clubs and 5,2 million Dutch people involved in sports. NOC*NSF is responsible for the participation of Dutch athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Youth Olympic Games, the European Games, and the European Youth Olympic Festival.
A visit from the NOC*NSF Team NL
On February 7th, a delegation from the NOC*NSF Team NL medical team visited the Amsterdam UMC Heart Center for a special event. To ensure Dutch Olympic athletes receive top-level medical support, Team NL collaborates with specialists in radiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, internal medicine, and cardiology.
The recognition
During the visit, Team NL Chief Medical Officer Maarten Moen and Project Manager Gerda op het Veld officially recognized Dr. Nick Bijsterveld, Sports Cardiologist at Amsterdam UMC, as a High Performance Partner Medical for NOC*NSF. Dr. Bijsterveld joins the dedicated team providing expert care for Dutch elite athletes.

The occasion was celebrated with the Amsterdam UMC sports cardiology team, including specialists in CMR, echocardiography, cardiac devices, and research.
