Focus of research
My passion lies in clinical work and clinically oriented research. To build a strong foundation, I combined master’s degrees in Clinical Neuropsychology and Neurosciences (specialization in Clinical Neurosciences).
Through multidisciplinary collaborations across academia and industry, I aim to bridge brain imaging research to clinical practice and deepen our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) heterogeneity.
My PhD was part of the EU IMI-funded AMYPAD project, where I gained extensive expertise in amyloid-PET imaging. During my postdoc - also within AMYPAD - I co-led the Centiloid working group, which achieved an EMA-endorsed Biomarker Qualification Opinion for the clinical use of the Centiloid metric in amyloid-PET assessment and treatment initiation.
Currently, I co-lead the next phase of AMYPAD through the Euro-PAD collaborative framework, further strengthening pan-European efforts in AD imaging research.
Following my MSCA and Alzheimer’s Association-funded postdoctoral fellowship with the BioFINDER group at Lund University, I expanded my work to include novel fluid biomarkers of AD and comorbidities. My current research focuses on AD disease heterogeneity, aiming to refine clinical trial design and move toward personalized treatment.
I am particularly interested in the clinical utility of occipital amyloid burden—a region often overlooked in amyloid-PET studies—which may help predict side effects in AD treatments. In parallel, I am exploring imaging-genetics approaches to uncover the mechanisms underlying imaging endophenotypes.
Beyond my scientific work, I deeply value supervision and teaching, supporting the growth of the next generation of researchers.
