The APH Global Health junior council is offering a grant of up to €1,000 to support a junior researcher in organizing a symposium covering Global Health. This symposium should engage (junior) researchers from the Amsterdam Public Health (APH) Institute and foster discussion on global health challenges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Affiliation: The applicant must be a junior researcher (PhD candidate or early-career postdoc) affiliated with the APH Global Health program.
- Participation: The symposium must be open to participation for other junior researchers in Global Health within APH and the Amsterdam UMC/AIGHD and promoted actively to them (support to do this is available from APH-GH).
- Topic Relevance: The symposium must focus on a Global Health issue.
- Delivery: Both in-person and hybrid symposia will be considered. For in-person, be especially mindful of the feasibility within the budget.
Requirements & grading criteria
A short proposal (max. 1 A4 page) including:
- Title
- Theme of the symposium
- Target audience (with expected number of participants)
- Global outline of symposium programme and mode of delivery
- Expected outcomes, including added value for (junior researchers of) APH-GH
- Budget (for in-person, be mindful to present a feasible budget)
After organizing the symposium, you need to submit a picture and a short paragraph about the symposium that may be used on social media.
Timeline: All expenses have to be declared before 1 December 2026.
