Focus of research

My current research focuses on neuropsychiatric aspects of Long COVID and depression, with a particular emphasis on brain-related symptoms such as fatigue, mood disturbances, and cognitive problems. My research questions address the underlying brain mechanisms associated with these symptoms and symptom clusters. In addition, I investigate interventions aimed at alleviating persistent brain-related disturbances, including brain stimulation techniques such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and psychotherapy. I am particularly interested in using positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying these symptoms and to identify potential targets for intervention.
