Scientists noticed that the research results of the Russian Sputnik vaccine seem promising but contain ‘apparent errors and numerical inconsistencies’. APH researchers Lex Bouter, Hans Berkhof and Gowri Gopalakrishna were part of the group of scientists that have come forward with a list of objections.

A group of scientists wrote in The Lancet that the research results of the Russian Sputnik vaccine are questionable. Apparently, scientific goalposts have been moved retrospectively. The reported vaccine efficacy is much higher than in comparable vaccines such as Janssen and AstraZeneca, which are also based on a converted cold virus which imitate a covid-19 infection.

Lex Bouter, Hans Berkhof and Gowri Gopalakrishna, along with other scientific critics, again ask the Russian researchers to make the data on which their analyses are based publicly available. The found multiple cracks within the study such as the vaccine being as effective on all age groups, which is statistically impossible.
